What are Extra Care Bucks?

I've had a couple inquiries about CVS and Extra Care bucks, so I decided to take a moment to explain how it works.

First a little history, for like 3 years I would go to CVS, make my purchases and each time the cashier would ask if I had a CVS card I'd say "no." To tell the truth I was almost annoyed by the question, I just wanted to make my purchases and leave.  But one day it hit me, what the heck is a CVS card?  So, I decided to sign up for one and boy am I ever glad I did.  So here's how it works:

You must sign up for a CVS card to benefit from deals each week.  It's not as much of a chore as I thought it was.  Just fill out the simple form and boom your done. So now with card in had you're ready to make CVS pay for every penny you spent in that store without having a CVS card.  Which brings me to what Extra Care Bucks or EB are?  They're essentially like store credit.

When you see a sale in CVS with an EB attached to it, just know that that is money back into your pocket.  Extra Care bucks essentially act like store credit given back to you to use like cash.  You can't purchase gift cards and stamps or tobacco but everything else in the store is fair game.

The trick is to roll your EB's from one week to the next to minimize your total out of pocket expenses.   So that's it in a nutshell!  Now you've got a hot secret to how to get tons of free stuff each week at CVS.
